When you advertise your event with us, you’ll get a dedicated web page indexed by google to help people keep updated with the latest information which you can share on posters, facebook, twitter, etc.
You will then be included in our what’s on guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I list my event on Eastleigh Neighbours?
It’s free, indexed by google, and many more people can find it if we list all local events in one place. Not enough? You also get your own web page to share your event, venue, or organiser details – so you can easy have a “list of upcoming events at your pub, etc”.
Don’t facebook, google, our website, and many others advertise my event anyway?
Yep – they do but your potential guests need to check far too many places to look for your event. Here we try to put them all in one place to make it easier for locals to find something to do when they have some free time. The idea is that we could all work together as a community and try to keep all events registered in one place, so we can all easily find them.
Why is it free to list?
This started as one man trying to fix a problem – I wanted to know what’s on locally without looking everywhere! So, its selfish really, I want to be able to easily find what’s on – so please tell us, so we can tell everyone else. 🙂
We are trialing using ads to pay for the cost to run the service, so don’t be afraid to click on a few if you find them interesting, it’ll all go into the funds to keep this site running.
What are the benefits of listing here?
We make it easy for you, the organiser to share & advertise your event. Once you’ve listed your event, your event page will act as the master web page for your event. It will be indexed by google, and if you want to update the details, you can at any time. You can share your event page with facebook, print it, etc, and people can always access the latest information & updates.
Going forwards, you would also be helping work towards reducing future effort in advertising events. We shouldn’t need to print lots of leaflets, posters, pay for advertising, or spamming social media. Telling people “whats on” in their local area for an organiser should be easy!
We also share random events on our facebook & twitter pages. If you’re interested in helping us run these pages, please post a message and introduce yourself!.
What type of events can I list?
We are open minded as to what the community want to list. Live music, comedy, village fetes, carnivals, open days, socials – we are interested in it all.
Can I add my classes and groups?
We suggest you add your class or group to the weekly classes and groups post. We’re open to some classes being added to the main what’s on guide for the ‘launch day’ to help increase awareness. Feedback from users suggested when we allowed regular classes and groups in the guide, it was frustrating seeing the same repetitive thing every week.
I’ve added my event but it hasn’t yet appeared in the guide.
Your event first needs to be approved by a human. Give the humans 24 hours to get around to it before raising it.
I have a suggestion for improvement, do you want to hear it?
Absolutely, we love feedback – please do post in the Eastleigh Online site feedback and let us know. Similarly, we’re also interested to hear if you found our service useful.
